The Chemo meets the Cancer         This blog post is going to be a little different. Instead of giving you a day by day, blow by blow ( or is it symptom by symptom ? ) account of my Chemo treatments, and their side effects, I am just going to mention the highlights and interesting things I saw or heard. Do you really want to read about whether I was feeling constipated or about to have the runs on any particular day ? No ? That's what I thought..... Saturday September 30, 2023: ( Surprise ! ) Party       Michelle told me a few days ago, that she was holding a birthday party for Megan, and I was invited. What she didn't tell me was that it was also a " Kick Cancer's A** " party for me, complete with a cake telling cancer to " Go to H*** ". Thanks Michelle ! Remind me to never make you mad. Does your husband know how cunning you are ?? To paraphrase Ringo Starr " I Beat Cancer with a LOT of help from my friends." My Awesome Co-Workers: Mich

September 5, 2023: Is there a Bat in the building ?     Dr Hazzi's office was able to get me a "irregular scheduled" Echocardiogram. How Irregular ? How about 7:15 AM. Good thing I'm an early riser. Took me a while to find the right lab, but once I got there, it was quick and easy. When I went inside and looked in the mirror, there was a large lump halfway down the right side of my neck. Maybe it's an allergic reaction. There is a lot of pollen in the air and the smoke from the wildfires in eastern Canada probably isn't helping any. 25 June, 2023: It's still there...     The lump is still there and it is painful to touch it. It is also getting a little difficult to swallow food unless I chew it thoroughly. Obviously, it is NOT an allergic reaction. I will see the Doctor as soon as I can. 26 June, 2023: Doctor's Orders            I saw the Doctor this morning. When she saw the lump she said: " Wow, that's pretty big." She measured the lump as 2.5cm x 3.0cm ( roughly 1 inch by 1.2 inches for those who don't do metric ). She then ordered a CT scan of my neck.
